2009 Youth at Risk Conference - June 10, 2009

Background

The Youth at Risk Conference began in 2000 to address an unmet need for training focused on youth issues, increasing awareness of existing resources, sharing best practices, and advancing greater cooperation and collaboration among professionals and others serving and caring for youth in Essex County. The conference is also an opportunity to tap the incredible wealth of expertise in Essex County around the topic of youth at risk. It continues  to be the only one of its kind in Essex County.

 

Who Should Attend

The YAR Conference is geared primarily towards individuals in Essex County working with and caring for youth in a number of settings – family, community, school, religious, healthcare, human service, recreational, etc. Past attendees include:  

  • Social workers
  • Psychologists
  • Youth counselors
  • Teachers
  • School adjustment counselors
  • Guidance counselors
  • Community and public health workers
  • Program managers
  • Agency and organization CEOs
  • Volunteers

Attendees represent a multitude of organizations including Health & Education Services, Family Continuity, CAB Health & Recovery Services, YMCA, Salvation Army, MSPCC, and Catholic Charities.

 

Day of Conference

The day includes continental breakfast, a choice of 3 breakout sessions, lunch, keynote, networking and ice cream social. Credentialing is offered.
